LITTLE HORSES is the story of Dave, a small town postal clerk who fears his son Ollie is slipping away from him. When Dave discovers that his ex-wife Judy plans to wed her current boyfriend Mark— Ollie’s exuberant soccer coach—Dave descends into a neurotic panic. Ollie wants a pony for his birthday, so Dave buys the only pony he can afford—a blind, deaf one—which he keeps hidden in a shed behind his Aback with the pony, culminating in its presentation at Ollie’s much anticipated 8th birthday party. In the vein of 1970s family comedy/dramas like Bad News Bears and Breaking Away, LITTLE HORSES is a movie to embrace, a wonderfully funny, offbeat, heartfelt, and intelligent look at how growing pains are for adults and children alike.
